Annie's Volunteer Day at the Wonderful World Holiday Bible Club
In July, Annie Ngemi, our Business Coordinator at LHC, dedicated her time to a charity day with the Wonderful World Holiday Bible Club organised by Rayners Lane Baptist Church (RLBC) in Harrow. Rayners Lane Baptist Church (RLBC), a registered charity (#1129399), hosts a range of free events for the community, including the Wonderful World Holiday Bible Club, where children aged 5-11 can participate in a fun day filled with activities.
The club offers a safe space for children to engage in drama, singing, crafts, and games and learn about the wonderful world God created. Parents from all faiths are welcome to leave their children in the care of dedicated DPS checked staff for the day. Annie's day at the club involved singing, crafting, playing games, and even participating in a fun challenge of eating chocolate from her head without using her hands.
Annie's inspiration to participate in this charity work stems from her love for community engagement and the rewarding feeling of helping others. Rayners Lane Baptist Church (RLBC) serves as a support mechanism for the community, offering events, breakfast gatherings, and support services like the CAP debt centre.
During the charity event, Annie took on the role of a mentor, managing a group of children and engaging them in various activities. She shared the theme of the Wonderful World with them, sparking their imagination and curiosity. The most rewarding part of her experience was witnessing the children's joy and laughter, knowing that her contribution had made a difference by providing a safe and fun environment for children in the community.
Participating in charity work has impacted Annie personally by reinforcing the importance of giving back and helping others in need. Annie states “If you're thinking about getting involved in charity work, my advice is to do it wholeheartedly. It's a privilege to impact the community positively.”
Overall, Annie's volunteer day at the Wonderful World Holiday Bible Club was a heartwarming experience filled with joy, community support, and the spirit of giving back. It demonstrates the power of coming together to create a better world for all.
