Highlights from Our Retrofit and Decarbonisation Event
In March, industry leaders, experts, and public sector professionals gathered at the IET London: Savoy Place for an insightful day dedicated to retrofit and decarbonisation. The event sparked crucial discussions, showcased solutions, and provided networking opportunities, all aimed at driving the UK closer to its net zero goals.
Keynote speech by David Pierpoint - The Retrofit Academy
Kicking off the event, David Pierpoint, Founder and Chief Executive of The Retrofit Academy, delivered a keynote on “Retrofit quality and scale – What are the challenges, barriers, and opportunities to delivery?”
With years of experience tackling skills shortages in the retrofit sector, David highlighted the urgent need for large-scale retrofitting. He emphasised the importance of training professionals, ensuring compliance, and overcoming obstacles to accelerate energy efficiency improvements.
Panel discussion: How do we meet net zero targets through retrofit?
A panel of top industry experts tackled one of the most pressing questions: How can we achieve net zero in public sector buildings and homes?

Social value -Driving positive impact with retrofit projects
George Stevens, Director of Communities at LHCPG, led an insightful session on social value objectives and expectations, emphasising the broader impact of retrofit and decarbonisation projects.
She explained that LHCPG is committed to ensuring that every project delivers meaningful social value and that it works closely with clients and suppliers to set clear, measurable objectives.

Attendees had great networking opportunities over breakfast and lunch. They connected with industry peers exchanged ideas, and formed valuable knowledge to push their projects forward.

We chose IET London: Savoy Place because of its stunning location and alignment with our sustainability values. The venue featured:

- Eco-conscious catering with locally sourced ingredients
With its Platinum Greengage ECOsmart award, it was the perfect place to discuss the future of retrofit and decarbonisation.
The future of retrofit and decarbonisation - Our latest framework
As part of our commitment to accelerating decarbonisation, we were excited to announce the launch of our Retrofit and Decarbonisation (N9) Framework. This framework connects public sector organisations with trusted suppliers who can deliver high quality, cost effective retrofit solutions. By providing a streamlined procurement process, the framework will help councils, housing associations, and other public sector bodies achieve their net zero goals faster and more efficiently.
