Sam’s volunteer day at the Iver Environment Centre
At LHC, we are proud to support our employees in giving back to their communities. As part of our social value commitment, every team member receives 1.5 paid volunteer days each year to dedicate to a meaningful cause.
In May, Sam Whiting, our Technical Support Manager for London, spent his volunteer day at the Iver Environment Centre, a not-for-profit organisation in the Colne Valley between Uxbridge and Slough that helps local communities reconnect with nature through education and hands on activities.
Supporting nature and the community
The Iver Environment Centre, offers inspiring nature based programs for children, teaching them about food growing, habitats, and the environment. Sam contributed by weeding, hoeing, and clearing paths to keep the grounds accessible. He also helped create wildlife habitats and built planter bed surrounds using reclaimed bricks, giving them a sustainable second life.
Volunteering matters at LHC
We encourage our team to take an active role in causes they care about, whether it’s environmental conservation, education, or community support. Sam’s efforts at the Iver Environment Centre reflect our shared values, making a real difference in the communities we live in.
